Support For Schools On The Waianae Coast
Education is an important key to the future of Hawai‘i. That’s why PVT is a long-time supporter of academics and athletics programs at schools on the Wai‘anae Coast, as well as of the students who will shape our future by following their dreams.
PVT Scholarship Program
Since 2005, the PVT Scholarship Program has provided more than $1.2 million in college scholarships to graduating seniors from Nānākuli High & Intermediate School, Wai‘anae High School, and Kamaile Academy.

Many PVT Scholarship winners return to live and work in Waianae Coast communities after completing college. What will these scholarship winners from Nānākuli’s Class of 2023 choose to do?
Robotics
STEM subjects — science, technology, engineering, and math, are particularly close to our heart. We’re proud supporters of the Nānākuli High & Intermediate School Robotics Program, which has qualified teams to compete in the high school division of the VEX Robotics World Championships multiple years in a row.

Nānākuli High & Intermediate School fields strong robotics teams year after year.
Performing Arts
Our support for the Nānākuli High & Intermediate School Performing Arts Center has helped make it possible for hundreds of students to participate in more than 100 different productions and performances, ranging from Broadway musicals and dramas to musical revues. NPAC is open to students in grades 1 to 12 from any public school.

The NPAC production of iHula by playwright Ryan “Oki” Okimoto, explored the honor and sometimes burden of perpetuating culture and the true meaning of hula.
Athletics
PVT supports athletics programs with everything from new equipment and uniforms to funds that help cover the costs of team travel and banquets. We also helped turn an old bungalow into a study hall for the football team and provided new rubber flooring for the team’s weight room. We support athletics not because it makes better athletes, but because it makes better people.

PVT helped to bring former UH star and NFL player Kenny Patton’s sports performance and speed training program to Nānākuli for student-athletes in 7th through 12th grade from all Leeward schools.
School Supplies
Each school year, Wai‘anae Coast elementary schools benefit from PVT’s annual school supply initiative. Hundreds of pens, composition books, colored pencils, binders, and other supplies were provided to Nānākuli, Māʻili, Makaha, Nānāikapono, Wai‘anae, Ka Waihona o ka Na’auao, Kamaile, and Leihōkū elementary schools. Recently, we added backpacks to the inventory of supplies for our elementary school students.

As part of our Back(packs) to School program, PVT distributed nearly 1,000 backpacks containing school supplies to elementary schools on the Wai‘anae Coast.
